Media Coverage

There is always a great deal of media coverage in relation to prostitution.

Whenever we have felt it appropriate we have taken part in various TV programmes, radio and newspapers. We do this in order to raise awareness of the issues and highlight the realities surrounding prostitution.

If we believe the media attention is purely a voyeuristic approach and is focusing on the “glamour” of prostitution we decline the offer of taking part.

We believe it is vital that the public are given the true picture of street prostitution. Therefore all requests are discussed as a team in conjunction with the working women (when appropriate) and the Council's Strategic Communications team.
